The lack of issue in the Greek literature regarding the use of ultrasound in the management of the musculoskeletal system diseases, led the MITOS Group to write and publish the first edition of the book “Ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system in Rheumatology” in Greek, in 2014. The book aimed at the presentation of the basic principles and technical characteristics of the ultrasound method and its advantages over the other imaging techniques.

In 2017 the whole first edition was sold out. In 2018, four years after the first edition, the MITOS Group decided to publish the revised and expanded second edition including many new chapters and lots of new data. Thus, the new text book is going to be useful not only to rheumatologists, but also to colleagues of all specialties who deal with disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
